Free throw struggles costing Hogs
When comparing last year’s Razorback basketball team to the current squad, one obvious difference is free throw shooting.
In a league like the SEC that has so much parity this season, it’s fair to assume that many conference games will come down to a few important possessions. This means making free throws is of the utmost importance.
Last year, Arkansas shot 628-825 from the line, good for 76.2 percent and 22nd nationally, and they attempted approximately 23 free throws per game. The Hogs' best performance from the free-throw line came in a crucial three-point win against Texas where they shot 29-31 (93.5%), while their season low was a 61.9% showing against Texas A&M.
