"With this staff prioritizing recruiting, will the early signing period help or hurt the Hogs and why?" - Hendo Hog
When it was first announced, I thought there would definitely be more positives for a program like Arkansas than there would be for an established power program like Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, etc.
Now I lean more toward thinking it's a wash, but it's hard to say for sure because Arkansas was one of the unfortunate schools that had to deal with a coaching change in the first-ever early signing period. Point is, because everything was happening so quickly and in such a short amount of time, I don't think we've seen a good snapshot of what to expect from a typical early signing group at Arkansas.
I still see a lot of benefits, though. The biggest and most obvious one is being able to avoid programs like Alabama, Texas and others coming in late and stealing a guy that you've felt great about.
