Razorback offense preparing for first true road test in Columbia

When Arkansas lines up against South Carolina at 4 p.m. (EDT) Saturday in front of over 80,000 fans in Williams-Brice Stadium, it will mark the first true road game of the year for the Razorbacks.

Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen is currently 54 of 93 passing (58.1 percent) for 766 yards with 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He was in a funk the two games before last weekend, but his effort in the New Mexico State matchup boosted his passer rating to 145.6, just slightly ahead of this week’s counterpart Jake Bentley (143.5). Allen’s rating, which is sixth in the SEC, is only a tad below his 146.0 rating of last year, which ranked third in the conference in 2016.

Turning success into consistency

After Allen completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes for two games, the Arkansas passing game finally saw some success last weekend against New Mexico State. They will look to build on that heading into Saturday’s South Carolina game.
