Arkansas Lands Seventh 2020 Commit, Texas Wide Receiver Savion Williams

Arkansas has landed a seventh commit for the 2020 class and a third wide receiver, East Texas 3-star Savion Williams. Williams was nearing a decision when he took his official visit to Arkansas last weekend but said he would take a visit to Kansas in June. Turns out a visit wasn't necessary and he found his new home in the 479.

"My relationship with the coaches is tight, we're really close," Williams said. "We talk all the time. They've given me a good idea of where I'll fit in but we didn't sit and watch tape yet."

The 6-foot-4 pass-catcher matches the mold Justin Stepp likes for his larger wideouts and his speed is a notable advantage despite his size. Williams was recruited by both Stepp and running backs coach Jeff Traylor who leads the recruitment for East Texas recruits.

Williams' decision pushes the class to no. 25 in the country, though there's a long way to go until signing day. Arkansas has added plenty of prospects from East Texas, Williams makes it three now in the 2020 class.

Williams holds 13 other offers including Missouri, Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston and more.

According to MaxPreps, Williams had 42 catches for 659 yards and 12 touchdowns in his junior season.

Williams joins Georgia 3-star receiver Ze'Vian Capers and Texas 3-star receiver Mason Mangum in the class.
