Pregame Notes
Christian Franklin (strep throat) is not in the starting lineup for a second straight game. Both teams are using the same lineups as Friday's game.
T-2nd: Arkansas 2, NC State 0
After a leadoff walk by Brady Slavens, Arkansas started the scoring with a two-run home run by Charlie Welch.
B-3rd: Arkansas 2, NC State 1
After back-to-back singles to start the inning, North Carolina State used a sacrifice bunt to move the runners to second and third. That set up an RBI ground out by Tyler McDonough.
B-4th: NC State 5, Arkansas 2
The Wolfpack have regained the lead on a two-run home run by Jose Torres. Luca Tresh followed with a home run of his own. After a ground out, Vojtech Mensik launched a homer.
B-6th: NC State 6, Arkansas 2
North Carolina State scratches across another run in the sixth, using a sacrifice bunt to set up an RBI ground out by J.T. Jarrett.
T-7th: NC State 6, Arkansas 5
Sam Highfill had retired 16 straight batters before Brady Slavens took him deep for a solo home run in the seventh.
With runners on the corners, it looked like North Carolina State would get out of the inning with a ground out by Case Opitz, but the shortstop's throw took the first baseman off the bag and Opitz was safe. That allowed a run to score.
Given more life, Arkansas added another run on an RBI single by Jalen Battles.
