Arkansas added its second commitment in two days on Friday when offensive tackle Dalton Wagner of Richmond (Ill.) Burton gave his verbal pledge to become a Razorback.

Wagner, 6-8, 300, committed after making an unofficial trip to Fayetteville with his mother on Thursday. The talented tackle chose the Hogs over other offers from Illinois, Indiana, Utah, Louisville, California, Purdue, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia and more.

"It feels great, it's a big weight off my shoulders," Wagner said. "I'm extremely overjoyed and blessed. It's a great feeling, I look forward to my future. I've got a new family and I just can't wait to get there."

Wagner said Arkansas showing how much they care for him as a person played a major role in his decision.

"It was everything (about yesterday's visit), really," he said. "We had more time this time than when my dad and I came down in the spring. They stressed things this time that they didn't have time to stress last time, and it wasn't as rushed this time. They showed me all of the academic stuff, which was really important for my mom to see.

"That's really one of the biggest factors, seeing all of the academic support and how much it means to them. Coach B doesn't have to talk to the academic advisors every week the way he does. He does it because he genuinely cares about his guys.

"In fact, he told me yesterday, 'When you have success, you want everyone around you to have success.' He's had success and he wants his guys to have success long after football, not just for four or five years. That really meant a lot to me."

The big offensive lineman was recruited to Arkansas by first-year O-line coach Kurt Anderson, who led the charge in offering Wagner on February 26.
