What's next for Arkansas' class?

It's time to take a closer look at the top returning players at Arkansas for 2018 (Trey Biddy)

Who will be Arkansas' go-to players for Chad Morris in his first season as the Arkansas head coach? What is the overall level of talent remaining on this four-win team?

The good news is there are some very good players remaining on the roster. But as last season revealed as much as ever, depth is what wins in the SEC.

While the overall program is healthier than it was in 2013 when former head coach Bret Bielema took over, the talent level may not be as high as it was on Bielema's first team. There were 20 players on that 2013 team who went on to play in the NFL. Are there 20 on this team?

Consider quarterback Brandon Allen, running back Alex Collins, tight end A.J. Derby, defensive end Trey Flowers, tight end Hunter Henry, wide receiver Javontee Herndon, kicker Zach Hocker, offensive lineman Denver Kirkland, defensive end Mitchell Loewen, cornerback Tevin Mitchel, defensive lineman Darius Philon, offensive lineman Dan Skipper, fullback Kiero Small, defensive end Chris Smith, linebacker Martrell Spaight, tight end Jeremy Sprinkle, center Travis Swanson, defensive lineman Robert Thomas, running back Jonathan Williams and defensive end Deatrich Wise all played in regular season NFL games - not just a practice squad. And that doesn't include players like Keon Hatcher and Drew Morgan who have potential to make NFL rosters.

This isn't a look at every player. The primary focus is players who are expected to have a big role and a few others who have been a bit of a mystery...

QUARTERBACKS

Kelley has a lot of potential, as he showed last season. This offense needs a quarterback who is at least 'mobile enough,' and while Kelley may not be particularly elusive in the pocket, he is a load to bring down at 269 pounds. While he isn't going to break off any 50-yard runs against notable opponents, he is more than capable of going 15 yards and bulldozing his way into the end zone for a touchdown. Kelley has a big arm but can be erratic at times. He was still raw last season when forced into action. He definitely has a high ceiling.
