Coach John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks (17-12, 6-10 SEC) lost a must-win game Saturday afternoon against the South Carolina Gamecocks (12-17, 2-14 SEC), 72-53, at Colonial Life Arena.

On the NCAA Tournament bubble entering this game, Arkansas had to defeat a South Carolina team that has struggled throughout league play. Instead, the Razorbacks never even got off the bus.

In a historically low performance, Arkansas scored just 14 points and shot a whopping 12.5% from the field against the Gamecocks in the first half. It was the lowest point total in a half since Arkansas scored 12 against Nebraska in 1987, and as a result, the fewest in any half in an SEC game, according to HogStats.

There was little to no improvement in the second half, though Arkansas did finally hit a three-pointer with under five minutes to go. As a team, the Razorbacks finished 15-of-52 from the field, 3-of-22 from distance and 20-of-27 from the charity stripe.

Only two players reached the double-digit mark in wing Karter Knox (11 points) and center Jonas Aidoo (10 points).
