Arkansas seeking strong defensive finish in 2017

New assistant for Razorbacks needs deep-rooted Texas ties

Monday's Recruiting Notes

Arkansas is coming off a loss to Virginia Tech, and as Bret Bielema continues to evaluate the the staff, they are also eyeing the end of the month-long recruiting dead period.

Obviously Bielema needs to fix whatever is broken at Arkansas, and he is attempting to do that right now as he reviews everything in and around the program. Having a single second half collapse is going to draw a lot of criticism, but to do it in back-to-back games without another game on the schedule is a pretty negative way to go into the offseason. All fans are unhappy with the way Arkansas finished, and many are flat out angry.

Robb Smith is not going to be the defensive coordinator at Arkansas. It is all but official, but he will indeed head to Minnesota over Wake Forest to coach under new head coach P.J. Fleck. It's not a bad move for Smith, but it doesn't guarantee things will change for Arkansas' defense.
