Rafe Peavey to transfer

Key Tuesday Practice Notes

-Dan Enos said they had a good day of practice, but there’s a new scheme they’re facing so there is a lot of learning going on with them in showing players how they want to do things. But they still face off against their first and second defense, good-on-good.

-Enos said he wished Rafe Peavey well and added that he did everything with class while he was at Arkansas.

“The fans should not be freaking out about the offensive line, we’re going to be fine.” –Frank Ragnow

-Hjatle Froholdt said he played tight end as a sophomore in high school and a little offensive line in Denmark before moving there in the spring. He said he feels ‘decently comfortable’ at offensive line now. He said the best way to describe going against Jeremiah Ledbetter every day is “just annoying.” He said coming in as a freshman it was scary how smooth he was as such a big guy.

-Kurt Anderson said he doesn’t want the offensive line to know anything. They might have the OL settled, they might not, he said. He pointed to Jalen Merrick as a guy who was competing for the starting spot at right tackle but got banged up. When he is back full-go he could push. Merrick had a half practice today. He also mentioned Paul Ramirez, as he is coming back from injury.

-The reason Colton Jackson is at right tackle now is because he took on adversity. When Dan Skipper was moved from right tackle to left tackle, it moved Jackson to the second group, and he had a great four days of practice after that.

-Austin Allen said Dan Enos met with the Arizona Cardinals and other NFL teams and came back with ‘a bunch’ of new concepts that they could use now or could come back to later.

-Drew Morgan said they call Grayson Gunter ‘Little Hunter,’ and he plays really fast and ‘has some wheels on him.’ Enos said he thought he was going to be a developmental redshirt for them, but he has learned and taken advantage of every opportunity.

-Morgan didn’t know that he was on the Senior Bowl Watch List, nor that Arkansas was the only team with three receivers on the list. He said, “This is kind of cool.”

-Morgan said he came in and talked to the team the other day and said “I came in and talked to the team the other day and said ‘I have an addiction. –The addiction is mental mindset. It’s a positive mental mindset. I come in every day with a positive attitude. It’s a term I call juice, and everybody now is infected with juice. So we go into practice and everybody says ‘juice, juice, juice,’ and it’s awesome because everybody’s tempo is up, everybody’s smiling, everybody’s having a good time, and practices are turning out great for us.”

-"Here's the deal. -You don't want to be a sponge. Drew Morgan has this theory that you either got the juice or you're a sponge. If you're a sponge you're bringing down the juice. But if there's enough juice...He described this in a meeting the other day. If there's a pool and you put a sponge in it, the juice is going to overtake the sponge and the sponge is going to sink, so I guess he's saying if we have enough juice, we as a team are going to be great."

-Morgan said he might be underestimating Cole Kelley when he says he has a ‘strong arm.’

-Kody Walker said he did a half day today but could absolutely carry a full load if he had to right now.
