The Arkansas basketball team will take on the Duke Blue Devils at the United Center in Chicago on Thanksgiving Day 2025, the school announced Thursday.
The game will be broadcast on CBS and will tip off at 7 p.m. CT as a part of the CBS Sports Thanksgiving Classic. This is the second year in a row that Arkansas will play on Thanksgiving, as the Razorbacks played Illinois at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City last year. Arkansas lost that game, 90-77.
Arkansas head coach John Calipari said in a press release that he is excited about the prospects of playing a high-caliber team like the Blue Devils, who are ranked No. 2 in the AP Top 25 right now.
“In what will be one of the most watched college basketball games in the last decade, we could not be more excited to be playing Thanksgiving Day against Duke on CBS again next season," Calipari said in the press release. “This past year playing on Thanksgiving Day was a great experience and great exposure for our program, as well as all of college basketball.
"This will be an NCAA tournament-caliber game that will show us exactly where our team is at that point in the season. These high-level games help prepare you for March. Duke has had an incredible season this year and Jon Scheyer has done a great job taking the reins of that program. We are looking forward to the challenge in a highly coveted matchup.”
Arkansas and Duke last met at Bud Walton Arena in the SEC/ACC Challenge in 2023, a game that the Razorbacks won, 80-75, in front of a sellout crowd that stormed the court after the victory. Arkansas leads the all-time series, 3-2, and the Hogs are 2-0 in regular-season matchups against Duke.
The one postseason win the Razorbacks have against Duke came in the 1994 National Championship. Scotty Thurman hit a three-pointer with 50 seconds left to help the Razorbacks win their first and only National Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Hogs' last Thanksgiving's matchup against Illinois averaged 5.174 million viewers on CBS and is the most-watched college basketball game on any network this season.
