The Razorbacks will host one of their most wanted running back targets for the 2019 class next month when Oklahoma City (Okla.) Millwood junior Marcus Major makes his way to Fayetteville.
Major, 6-0, 190, was officially offered by the Hogs on January 8 and has remained in constant contact with running backs coach Jeff Traylor ever since.
"I'm actually going up to Arkansas on February 24," Major said. "I think that'll be good for me to get up there. I haven't been to their campus yet so I don't know what it's like, but it's a big honor for me to get an offer from a great school in the SEC.
"I've been having conversations with Coach Traylor. He came by last week. I've been talking to Coach (Barry) Lunney a lot, too. Matter of fact, he just texted me a few minutes ago. But I've been communicating with them a lot here recently."
Major owns other offers from Memphis, Tulsa and North Texas, and is beginning to get a closer look from the instate Sooners after attending a junior day in Norman last weekend.
"One of OU's recruiting coaches will be coming by my school this Friday, but that's it for now," Major said.
The talented tailback rushed 100 times for 1,250 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior.
"My work ethic is a strength," Major said. "I like working hard and I don't like doing anything halfway. I like to work out. I just want to be that guy on the field that stands out. I want to show out."
Major knows there's a chance that offers will keep rolling in over the next several months. For now, he's just enjoying the ride.
"I feel amazing right now," he said. "It's good to get all this attention. Not too many people get to experience this, so it's an honor to get all of this. I'm just going through the process right now. It's my first time doing this recruiting thing. I'm just taking it in stride.
