Pregame Notes
Dave Van Horn has made extensive changes to the lineup for Friday's game. Most notably, Casey Opitz is getting a day off behind the plate. in his place, freshman Dylan Leach will make his collegiate debut. Another backup catcher, Charlie Welch, is in the lineup as the designated hitter. He replaces Zack Gregory in the lineup after he made his first start Thursday.
Braydon Webb, who was the DH in Game 1, is back in left field, while everyone else is in their same positions. However, the order has been shuffled. Cayden Wallace has moved up to hit cleanup, while Webb fell down a couple spots and Jalen Battles moved up into the 8-hole.
The only change in SEMO's lineup is that Tyler Wilber and Austin Blazevic flip-flopped.
T-3rd: SEMO 2, Arkansas 0
The Redhawks strike first for a second straight day. After the first two batters reached on a walk and single, Andrew Keck hit a one-out RBI single to start the scoring. Lincoln Andrews followed with a ground ball fielded by Vermillion, who got the out at first, but a run was able to score on the play.
B-3rd: Arkansas 2, SEMO 2
Dylan Leach broke up the perfect game bid by lining a single into left field in his first career at bat and then Robert Moore crushed a pitch that landed in the left field bullpen. It's a two-run homer that ties the game.
B-6th: Arkansas 6, SEMO 2
Wallace breaks the tie by hitting a two-run home run. It was his first career long ball. After a triple off the wall by Slavens, Welch followed with a two-run homer of his own.
T-7th: Arkansas 6, SEMO 3
Peyton Leeper reached on an infield single with two outs, stole second, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on another infield single by Tyler Wilber. That gets a run back for the Redhawks.
B-8th: Arkansas 7, SEMO 3
Christian Franklin leads off the eighth inning with an opposite-field home run.
FINAL: Arkansas 7, SEMO 3
