Baseball Razorbacks ink nine for 2006 class

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The reigning Southeastern Conference champion Arkansas

Razorbacks announced nine signees for the 2006 season which consisted of
six high school players and one junior college player. The class was ranked
14th in the nation by Studentsports.rivals.com.
The class includes six pitchers, three left-handed and three right-handed, and three position players. The class features players from three different states across the southeast and one player from
Australia.
Studentsports.rivals.com had the Hogs' class as the third-best in the Southeastern Conference behind only LSU and Vanderbilt.
The Razorbacks signed three players from the state of Arkansas for 2006. Travis Wood (Bryant), Chad Coldiron (Fayetteville) and
Nick Makris (Pine Bluff) all decided to stay and play for the home-state
Razorbacks.
The Razorback coaching staff also signed Daniel Berg out of Texarkana Junior College. Berg is a native of Melbourne, Australia.
The Razorbacks are currently in the midst of off-season conditioning workouts as they prepare for the upcoming 2005 season.
Arkansas opens play at the Texas-Arlington Invitational on Feb. 11. The Razorbacks return for their home opener on Feb. 25, in the first game of a weekend series against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Kyle Hancock, RHP, 6-3, 195, Rowlett, Texas
"Ranked as one of the top right-handed pitchers in the state of Texas. . .

Travis Wood, LHP, 6-0, 170, Bryant, Ark.

Dainel Berg, 3B/1B, R/R, 6-0, 200, Melbourne, Australia (Texarkana Junior

"Drafted in the 30th round by the Minnesota Twins. . . .He was voted the
Freshman of the Year in the Texas Eastern Athletic Conference. . . .Widely
considered the top junior college hitter in Texas. . . .6.8 runner with

Brett Bolhman, RHP, 5-10, 160, Claremore, Texas
"Throws an 88-90 mph fastball with command. . . .Also has above average
slider (80-81 mph). . . .Has a nice feel for change-up."
James Leverton, LHP/OF, R/L, 6-3, 200, Rockwell, Texas
"Very athletic with a great body on the mound. . . .Has an 86-88 mph
fastball that he commands well. . . .Also features an above average
