Boyce, Bridges lead Hawgs over Ole Miss, 4-3
HOOVER, Ala. - Charley Boyce threw seven innings of three-hit ball while Scott Bridges had a pair of hits and stole two bases to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to a 4-3 win over the Ole Miss Rebels in an elimination game at the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Arkansas improved to 38-20 overall, while Ole Miss saw its record drop to 39-19.
Boyce (8-2) earned the win after holding the Rebels to one run, earned, on three hits with one walk and five strikeouts. After giving up a single in the first inning, Boyce settled into a groove and did not allow another hit until the sixth inning.
Boyce retired eight straight Rebels during one stretch. Two of the three hits Boyce allowed came with two outs.
Jay Sawatski earned his fifth save of the season after pitching the final two innings of the game. Sawatski allowed two runs, both earned, on six hits with one strikeout and no walks.
Sawatski moved into a tie for seventh on the Arkansas career saves list with eight.
Anthony Cupps (3-4) took the loss for Ole Miss after giving up four runs, two earned, on four hits in seven innings of work. Cupps walked one and fanned five on 117 pitches.
After going without a hit through the first four innings of play, the Razorbacks finally broke through in the fifth. Haas Pratt reached on a fielding error by the shortstop and moved to second on a ground out by Brady Toops.
Danny Hamblin drove Pratt home with a double to center to give the Hogs a 1-0 lead. Hamblin advanced to third when the catcher threw wild to second on an attempted pickoff. Bridges pushed Hamblin home with a bunt single.
Devin Day moved Bridges to second with a ground out to third for the second out of the inning. After Bridges stole third, Cupps fanned Jake Dugger to end the inning with Razorbacks holding a 2-0 lead.
Ole Miss pulled within a run with a two-out, solo home run by Alex Presley in the top of the seventh inning. It was Presley's sixth home run of the season and it made it a 2-1 game.
The Razorbacks extended their lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two outs, Bridges singled and Day walked. Dugger then singled to center to bring both runners home and give the Hogs a three run lead.
The Rebels mounted a rally in the ninth. With two outs, Presley doubled to left-center. Charlie Babineaux followed with a single to center that plated Presley and cut the Arkansas lead to 4-2.
Matt Tolbert then laced a single to left to put runners at first and second. Barry Gunther drove pinch-runner Miles Franklin home with a single to make it a 4-3 game.
With the tying run at third, Sawatski got Cooper Osteen to strikeout swinging on a 2-2 pitch to end the game and eliminate the Rebels from the SEC Tournament.
Arkansas will now play the loser of the South Carolina vs. Tennessee game at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
