The University of Arkansas officially announced the hire of new defensive line coach John Scott Jr. on Tuesday. Scott Jr. stated in the UA release that he has spent half of his coaching career with a 3-4 defense.

The one blemish on Scott's rise from high school coach, to small college, to Power 5 school to the NFL was his forced resignation from Texas Tech after coaching there in 2013 and 2014. Arkansas fans will be familiar with this story since the Hogs faced the Red Raiders in 2014 in Lubbock.
