Basketball is back in Bud Walton Saturday night as the Hogs face North Texas in their second game of their multi-team event.

The Razorbacks blew out Mississippi Valley State 142-62 on Wednesday, notching their second-largest margin in program history. Eight Razorbacks, led by Connor Vanover, scored in double digits and cumulatively, the Hogs shot at 50% from three-point range.

The Mean Green had an equally successful opening bout against the Delta Devils, scoring 21 shots from deep, winning 116-62.

This will be Arkansas and North Texas' 16th meeting with the Hogs holding a 15-0 series record. North Texas was the Conference USA regular-season champion last year. The Mean Green ranked 10th in the NCAA in field goal percentage and 14th in 3-point field goal percentage.

Mean Green to Know

Javion Hamlet - Scoring 13 against MVSU, redshirt senior guard Javion Hamlet is the Mean Green's lone preseason all-conference pick. Hamlet led the conference in assists, assist-turnover ratio and free throw percentage last season while averaging 17.9 points per game.

Zachary Simmons - Six-foot-10 forward Zach Simmons put up 16 points on MVSU. Last season, the Texas native racked up 5.2 boards per game and he'll have an increased role this year.

James Reece - Third on the Mean Green in minutes last season, senior guard James Reece scored 21 points in 24 minutes of play against MVSU. Reece was 44% from the field last season and 36.6% from three.
