The Arkansas Razorbacks (18-12, 7-10 SEC) bounced back in a big way with a 90-77 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores (20-10, 8-9 SEC) at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday night.
It was an absurdly late tipoff, as the game started shortly after 9 p.m. CT, but the Hogs were wide awake. The Commodores jumped out to an early lead, but Arkansas used a 13-2 run late in the first half to take a 43-37 lead by halftime. The Hogs never trailed after that and led by as many as 17 points in the game.
"I think this is our (third) game with short numbers, so he’s already told us that we have to go out there and play anyways, so we just go out there and try every night," Brazile told the SEC Network after the win.
Five Razorbacks scored in double figures, and Johnell Davis led the way with 21 points, but it was Trevon Brazile who stole the show. He logged his first double double of the season and had 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Speaking of rebounds, Arkansas won that battle as well. The Hogs out-rebounded the Commodores 42-31, had 12 offensive boards and scored 19 second-chance points.
After a crushing loss to South Carolina last Saturday, the Hogs are back in the win column. Here are some of HawgBeat's takeaways from Tuesday's win...
